Fun Candy Land Birthday Party You Can Actually Play!
Do you remember playing Candy Land as a child? Many of us parents do and that was a game that was so much fun! Now imagine how much fun it would be to actually be active in the game! This birthday party will need a creative parent but it will be well worth it!
What you will need:
- 20 cardboard boxes
- Paint in blue, purple, yellow, orange and pink
- The actual candy land game spinner
You will need to cut the cardboard boxes into squares so that each side will be one piece of the candy land trail. Paint each square a different color and allow them to dry. You will need to do this prior to the day of the birthday party.
On the day of the birthday party line the squares end to end in a winding and twisting trail just like in the regular candy land game. Have each child wear a solid color shirt so that you can identify which child goes next. Have the children pair up into sets of two. One child will be the game piece or the one who will move along the squares while the other child will be the spinner or the one who spins the candy land wheel. Have each child line up at the beginning of the candy land trail. Have their partner spin the wheel and then the other child moves along the trail.
You should have prizes for each child such as first place, second place etc. The first child to the other end of the candy land trail will win. You should play this game at least two times so that each child gets a chance to be the spinner and the mover.
For the extra creative parent you can also make that different stops in the candy land game such as gum drops for the gum drop stop.
