Fun in the Snow

Fun snow children party

Kids of all ages will have fun at a snow party. The main disadvantage is that the weather can be a problem. It it’s too cold, everyone is miserable and if it’s too warm, the snow will melt, but a nice winter day is perfect.

Set Up: You need to find a nice hill that can be used for sledding that is free from obstacles. If you can recruit a parent or other helper with a snowmobile or 4-wheeler that can pull kids and sleds back up the hill, you will be a hero. You might also want to set aside an area near your hill for kids to have a snowman-building contest or work on a snow fort.

Invitations: Use a nice snowman for an invitation and caution everyone to wear their warm clothes. Also ask kids to bring their sleds or toboggans.

Arrival: Give kids a few safety rules about waiting until the sled in front of them is near the bottom before they start out, and then turn them loose.

Main Event: This type of party does not require much adult intervention. Just keep a sharp eye out for any daredevils that are sledding in an unsafe manner and provide a warm car as a place to thaw out occasionally. If you want to offer some prizes for creative snow people or other snow creatures, the kids can work on those projects if they need a rest from climbing the hill.

Refreshments: Hot chocolate or even soup in insulated containers will hit the spot.
