Rubber Stamp Fun
Lots of moms are enjoying rubber-stamping these days and their daughters will like it too. Little girls love to mimic mom so this type of party will make them feel grown up when they make something that is usually done by adults.
That is especially true if they can get together to work on their projects. Use your friends who like to stamp as resources for borrowing stamp pads and supplies, and for teaching girls how to do some basic projects.
People who have home businesses involving stamps will be glad to come to your party to demonstrate techniques, in the hope of acquiring some new customers. You will need to have cardstock and envelopes available, as well as stamps, inks, stickers and other embellishments.
Invitations: They should obviously be homemade, stamped cards. Let the guest of honor choose the colors and designs for each of her friends that is to be invited.
Arrival: Direct the guests to the work area as they arrive so they can see some sample projects. They can gather ideas for the cards they want to make.
Main Event: Establish some ground rules with the girls before they begin their projects. They should be given some idea of how many cards they will be allowed to make. They should also watch some demonstrations of how to stamp properly, how to embellish their cards, and so on. If an embossing gun or other electrical appliance is used, be sure to provide plenty of supervision. As the girls finish their projects, pin them on a bulletin board to be seen by all. You could give prizes if you like, for things like most colorful, funniest, or most creative card.
Refreshments: Any kind of snack would work at this party, but if you’d like to stay with the theme, have girls make edible “cards” from graham crackers and colored frosting.
