Tie Dye Shirt Birthday Party

Do you remember tie dying shirts and other clothes when you were younger? It was a lot of fun then and it is still a lot of fun now. This is a great way to have a lot of fun and send each girl home with a new shirt to wear to remind them of the great time they had at your child’s party. Remind the girls to wear old clothes since they will be using clothing dye and the last thing you want is someone to get a lot of dye on their new outfit. 

Each girl will need one white t-shirt. This can be an old shirt, even one with stains because you are just going to dye right over those. Have each girl take rubber bands and section off her t-shirt. 

You will need to purchase clothing dye and large bowls to mix the dye into. Once the dye is mixed have each girl dip one section of her shirt into a different color dye. Make sure to saturate the t-shirt to give each color a bold and bright appearance. If she would like to have more than one section the same color that’s ok too! Let the girls be creative and try out different colors and styles. Once the girls are done you will then want to have them cut the rubber bands from the shirt but be careful not to cut the shirt it self. Then hang each shirt on a hanger and if possible hang the shirts outside to dry. They may drip some color from the shirts so make sure to place them in a place where this is ok with you or place something under them to keep them from staining anything. 

Send each girl home with a cool shirt that will remind her of a great birthday party and lots of fun she had with her friends.
