Tips for Moms with Infants / Babies

During the time of infancy to toddler you will watch your baby grow at an amazing rate both physically and mentally. Being a mom you need to encourage this growth in many ways to help give your baby the best start possible.

Talk to Your Baby

Just because you baby isn’t able to talk back it is good to talk to them just as if they could. This will encourage their speaking abilities, comprehension and their vocabulary. You will also notice that most children who are spoken to from a very early age with speak sooner than those who are not.

Provide Your Baby with Toys that Will Keep their Attention

There are so many toys on the market now for infants that finding one that will keep your baby’s attention is easy. There are toys that show little films, light up and move that are great to strengthen your baby’s eye movements. There are also several toys that can be hung from the bouncer or stroller that will encourage physical movement and hand-eye coordination.

Hand Eye Coordination

Once your baby is able to sit on his own there are several toys you can help your baby to play with such as blocks, rubber toys anything that will encourage your baby to move an object from one place to another. You can also play a game with them where you hand them an object but allow them to reach for it. This will help them to learn to use both their vision and their sense of touch to reach the object.

Maintain a Regular Sleeping Schedule

Just like any other human being infants and babies need a regular sleeping pattern. This will allow for your baby to have the much needed rest to be able to learn while they are awake. An infant needs about 14 hours of sleep every day and this will decrease as your baby goes from infancy into being a baby and then even more so as a toddler.

By giving your child a head start with learning you as a mom are paving the way to encourage this for a lifetime.
